Brief Trip Description

The 5-day tour of Bhutan commences from Paro where you visit the revered Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. The monastery is located at the side of a steep cliff at an altitude of 2,950 meters.

After the visit, you hike down to Paro and sightsee two landmarks i.e. Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum of Bhutan. Then, you head to the capital city- Thimpu on the second day. At Thimpu, you will learn more about folk history at Folk Heritage Museum and proceed to Tashichho Dzong. The sightseeing tour at Thimpu ends at the Memorial Chorten. Then, you visit the last stop of the tour, Punakha.

The Punakha Dzong holds years and years of Bhutanese history and culture so, it will be the first place you visit. Then, you visit another equally important landmark, Chimi Lhakhang. After the excursion in Punakha is complete, you head back to Paro. En route, you can stop at local markets to buy souvenirs.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Paro Airport, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.

The first day of the trip starts with you arriving at Paro Airport where our company staffs will offer you a warm welcome. Then, they will accompany you to the hotel where you refresh. You join them to know about the trip in detail.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Paro and drive to Thimphu (1 hr 30 minutes)

After an early breakfast, you will hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, one of the major highlights of Bhutan. After visiting the monastery, hike back to Paro for lunch. Then you visit the National Museum of Bhutan and Rinpung Dzong. Both of these places hold a deep significance in both the history and religious influence in the country. By late afternoon, you hit the road leading to Thimpu, the capital city.

Day 03: Sightseeing in Thimphu drive to Punakha (3 hrs.) and sightseeing in Punakha.

After breakfast, you visit the Tashichho Dzong, Folk Heritage Museum, and the Memorial Chorten. Then, you will have lunch and head for Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. Once you reach there, head to the hotel to refresh and join the guide for sightseeing. You visit Punakha Dzong, the most majestic of its kind in the whole country and the historic Chimi Lhakhang monastery.

Day 04: Punakha to Thimphu to Paro drive (3 hrs. 30 minutes)

After breakfast, you visit and explore the Mo Chhu River, one of the important rivers of the country. Then, you have lunch and head back to Paro. En route, you stop at Dochu La Pass to see the amazing views of the surrounding landscapes and the faraway Himalayas. By late afternoon, you arrive at Paro for overnight stay. You can either do souvenir shopping or explore the market area in your free time.

Day 05: Transfer to airport for onward journey.
