Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Brief Insight

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra spans 14 days and it takes you around the holy Mount Kailash. This trip will prove to be eye-opening for those who are in desperate need for knowledge and wisdom. This Yatra starts from Nepal and it will lead you to the much desolate land of Tibet that is flocked with many small monasteries and jaw-dropping views of the Himalayas. From a cultural awakening at the monasteries in Zuthulphuk to a natural awakening at the sight of the Mansarovar Lake, this 14-day Yatra is one to be a part of.

The Yatra takes 14 days to complete and the first day is the day you arrive at Kathmandu. The company helps to prepare the necessary documents to enter Tibet and while the documents get ready, you discover the grandeur of Kathmandu city first-handed. The places you visit are Swayambhunath Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, which are also UNESCO heritage sites. The next day you head to the border of Nepal and Tibet and show immigration papers at Kodari. From there, you meet your Tibetan guide and head to Nyalam for an overnight stay. Spend a day in Nyalam and do admire the Paiko Tso Lake. The next stop is Saga and en route, you have to cross the Lalung La Pass (5,050m), one of the highest passes of Tibet. From there, you go to Lake Manasarovar via Paryang and you explore the unique Paryang Desert for a while. At Manasarovar, you take a holy bath and prepare yourself to do the Kailash Parikrama. The first stop of this holy circuit is Darchen and from there, you trek to Dirapuk. You continue to trek to Zutulpuk Gompa. Before you reach the final destination, you cross the last highest pass of the trip, Domla La Pass (5,200m). You’ll even get to see the Yamasthal, Shivasthal and the majestic Gauri Kund. At the pass, give your offerings and descend to Zutulpuk. After exploring the Milarepa caves, you head to Mansarovar. Immerse yourself in the holy waters of the lake and head out to Saga. Spend a night in this quiet countryside and head out to the border town of Nyalam. From here, you can catch a picturesque sight of mountains like Langtang, Everest, and Gaurishankar. After fulfilling the legal formalities, you will enter Nepal via Kodari and then you’ll enter get back to Kathmandu via the Araniko highway where the trip will end.
