Ganesh Himal Trek Brief Insight

The Ganesh Himal Trek navigates the foothills of the glorious Ganesh Himal range situated between the Langtang and Manaslu regions. The vibrant Tamang hamlets with their unique culture prove this as very little has managed to change over time in the way of life of the locals.

A diverse cast of floras, especially orchids, and faunas inhibit the region including more than 300 species of wildlife. All in all, the trek is an astounding venture to the Himalayas while enjoying the authentic cultural lifestyle along the way.

Getting There

The journey to Ganesh Himal begins from Kathmandu as we tour the UNESCO world heritage sites spread across the Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur cities. Thereon, we set off towards the town of Dhading moving further ahead to Satdobato. The first day of the trek takes us to Bhalche, heading deeper into the hilly setting. As the sub-tropical forests continue to envelop the trail, we continuously gain altitude heading towards Gongga and then onto Rupchet.

The next day, we take on the Singla La pass and at 4045m this is the highest altitude of our entire journey. A stunning Himalayan panorama including all four mountains of the Ganesh Himalayan Range and the Manaslu Himalayan Range awaits us on the summit of the pass.

Completing the circuit, the journey heads towards Shertung village from Shertung Kharka. Jharlang Phedi is the next on our list before we descend back to Kintang Phedi re-entering the lush green forests. The final stretch of the journey takes us back to Jamrung where we take a day off to enjoy the vibrant Tamang hamlets on the local culture. The journey ends as we make our way towards Sukaura hamlet before driving back to Kathmandu. The Trek to Ganesh Himal can be done throughout the year but the months from September to October and March to May.
