Brief Trip Description

Kathmandu Rara Motorcycle Tour, as its name suggests, starts in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you will ride along the main highways of Nepal through Butwal, Surkhet, and Sinja. The road to Surkhet is smooth as it lies in the Terai plains of Nepal. As you cross Surkhet, the road becomes rough and mostly goes uphill on a narrow mountainous track. These rough roads mostly go through the dense forest of rhododendron and pine. It is another day’s ride from Sinja to arrive at one of the largest lakes in Nepal, Rara Lake. As you continue to ride through the similar mountainous landscape to Rara Lake from Sinja, you will enter Rara National Park. It is habitat to numerous exotic animals like musk deer, goral, Black bear, red panda, etc. Rara Lake is perfectly placed in the lap of the Himalayas and Dolpo highlands.

The view of the mountains like Api (7132m), Saipal (7,031m), and Kanjirowa (6883m) along with the beautiful lake is breathtaking. The motorcycle tour also introduces the unique culture and lifestyle of Thakuri, Chhetri, Brahmins, and Dalit communities. During the tour, you will also witness the harmonic blend of Buddhist and Hindu communities. After a wonderful time in Rara Lake, you will ride back to Kathmandu through Khalanga Bazar of Jumla, Surkhet, and Chitwan through rocky mountainous landscapes and Terai plains.
