Best time for EBC short trek

The 3-day short Everest Base Camp’s best time is Spring and Autumn.  It is because, in these seasons the weather and climate is pleasing and sound compared to other seasons.  Similarly, the view is clear to observe the beauty of mountains.  The rainfall and lesser in these months which leads to less slippery routes.  The months from March to June and September to December are the best time for EBC short treks.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu (1,300m) to Lukla (2,845m) and, trek to Phakding (2,610m)

This is the first day of your trek, we will transfer you to the airport. You will reach Lukla by 40 mins flight. You will meet your porter in Lukla and trek to Phakding.

Day 02: Phakding (2,610m) - Namche (3440m)

The journey is a pleasant one as we head towards Namche Bazaar. The trail leading out of Phakding takes on the lush green forests adorned with pine and cedar trees moving through vibrant hamlets including Monjo and Jorsalle. Monjo also marks our entry into the Sagarmatha National Park as we ascend through the hilly trail reaching Namche in time to witness stunning views of Thamserku (6,608m) and Kongde Ri (6,187m). Overnight in Namche.

Day 03: Namche Bazaar(3,440m) – Tengboche (3,870m)

This trail offers great views. during your journey, you have a chance to watch spotted deer and Himalayan birds.

Day 04: Tengboche(3,870m) - Dingboche (4,410m)

Today’s trail takes you to Debuche which is one of the famous villages which is scattered by stones. Then you will cross Ijma Khola and heading to Pangboche. Then the trail follows the Lobuche Khola and you will reach Dingboche.

Day 05: Dingboche(4,410m) – Lobuche (4,910m)

Heading out of Dingboche the rugged Himalayan landscape slowly climbs through the snowy landscapes reaching Dughla. With the majestic views of the Himalayas the trail takes us to the village of Pheriche. From here, we make an ascending journey towards Chupki Lahara. Hereon, we descend through the glacial moraine of Khumbu Glacier all while enjoying the stunning views of Pumo ri and Mahalangur Himalayan ranges. Crossing the glacial pathways brings us to Lobuche on the foothills of Mt. Nuptse (7,861m). Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 06: Lobuche(4,910m) – Gorak Shep (5,160m) – Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Gorak Shep (5,160m)

This journey might be the longest journey of your trek. After early morning breakfast, we will follow the rocky path and reach Gorekshep then we head over to Everest Base Camp, another one of the major events of our entire trip. Trekking on the glacial moraines, the trail steadily climbs towards the base camp. After a couple of hours of climbing, the trail finally leaves us at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain. Here, we explore the base cap and marvel at the views of the Khumbu Glacier, Icefall, and numerous mountains neighboring the Mt. Everest (8848m). After enjoying the thrill and adventure the Himalayas bring we make our way back to Gorak Shep.

Day 07: Gorak Shep(5,160m) – Kala Patthar (5,550m) – Pheriche (4,280m)

We climb ⅔ hours and reach Kala Patthar offers a sunrise awakening of the Himalayan ranges and we will go back to Gorek Shep for Breakfast and Back to Pheric.

Day 08: Pheriche(4,230m) – Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

After Breakfast, we will start our journey to Namche which may take around 8/9 hours.

Day 09: Namche Bazaar(3,440m) – Lukla (2,845m)

This day is the second last day of our journey. After reaching Lukla we will say goodbye to our porters and we will stay overnight at Lukla.

Day 10: Lukla to Kathmandu (1,300m

The day begins early as flights out of Lukla are carried out early in the morning, if the weather is fine. Taking off from the Lukla airstrip gives us a sense of completing our journey while also giving one final glance at the Himalayas. Back at Kathmandu we directly head to the hotel freshening up from the days of the travel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
