Out of many peaceful adventures escapes in Nepal, Manaslu Region is one destination that allows you to have an experience of a lifetime. Famous for Manaslu Circuit trekking, this region is also considered to host one of the best off-beat trek and travel experiences in Nepal. Located in central Nepal, Manaslu Region is an underrated trekking realm of Nepal.
The region is named after Mt. Manaslu (8156m). Listed as the eighth highest mountain in the world, this spectacular mountain is the highlight of the region along with the Manaslu Conservation Area. With the mountain itself, the Manaslu Circuit trek, the Manakamana temple, and the Tsum valley, Manaslu Region has a lot to offer to its visitors.
The region has a comparatively low number of visitors which makes the experience more pleasant and exclusive. East to the famous Annapurna region, Mt. Manaslu is comprised of valley glaciers and ridges that allow many feasible routes for glorious adventures.
Other peaks surrounding Manaslu include Himalchuli (7893m), Boudha (6672m), and Ngadi Chuli (7871m). The clear view of beautiful mountains and landmarks combined with rich cultural heritage makes the Manaslu Region an ideal destination for travel.
The journeys here start from either of the historic Gorkha or Arughat bazaars. Manaslu Region holds some of the most authentic Tibetan style and Hindu villages. Being here is a walkthrough of these culturally rich communities clustered beneath the north face of Manaslu.
Exploring the Manaslu Conservation Area, the region boasts of a secluded valley inhabited by the Tsum and Nubri communities- Tsum Valley. With cultural villages like Lho, Sho, Samagaon, and Samdo leading to the dramatic climb of the Larkya La Pass (5160m), the Manaslu region trips are entertaining through and through. Manaslu Circuit Trek and Tsum Valley trek are the famed treks in the region.
Visiting the Manaslu Region at a different time of the year offers different aspects to the visit. Late December to Early March invites winter which gives you the opportunity to view frozen waterfalls and rivers along with snow covered trails.
This is the most challenging time of the year to be in the Manaslu region. March to Late May is ideal if you wish to forests filled with Rhododendrons. Late September to Mid-December is the most ideal time to visit the Manaslu Region. The temperature is moderate and the view is clearer. The number of trekkers getting here is more compared to the other time of the year.
