Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek Brief Insight
Everest Base Camp through Gokyo Lake is a daring trek that includes amazing Lakes of Gokyo, exploit of hills, rocks, and fissures upward and downward Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass, and Kala Patthar. We will walk through the dense forest of Rhododendrons, fir, pines, etc. We need to pass through the waterfalls, streams, rivers, and villages of ethnic Sherpa. Mountains like Mt. Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and Everest can be seen from the way.
We can visit Tengboche Monastery where we can get blessings from monks. We can see the mesmerizing and amazing view of mountains and landscapes from the top of Kala Patthar. To reach on the top of Cho La Pass is not easy. Depending upon the weather, the trek is determined. We might need to walk in icy area. Cho La Pass is also known by Everest Circuit trek and is an interesting and daring trek in the Everest region.
Everest Base Camp through Gokyo is an engrossing and daring trek through rough trails. The rough chain of trails makes Everest Base camp trail more difficult than the typical Everest Base Camp trails due to the high preference of Mt Cho La Pass. This Pass is situated at the Gokyo trails in the Khumbu region. The trails continue to Gokyo Lake in the west passing Ngozumpa glacier. The trails connect the Everest Base Camp Trek in the middle of two wonderful valleys i.e. Gokyo and Khumbu.
Gokyo Valley lies in the Everest region and through it we can see the mesmerizing view of Everest Himalayas. Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Lakes have trekking probabilities through lakes, valleys, and identifies Ngozumpa which is the biggest Glacier of Nepal. We need to trek through the Sherpa town and know their livelihood to reach the typical and daring Everest Base Camp. We need to trek the difficult route as we will be covering the route of 5000m that includes the mountains like Gokyo RI, Cho La Pass, Kala Patthar, and Everest Base Camp.
Best time for Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek
There are two best times for trekking in Everest Base Camp and Gokyo lakes, they are Spring and Autumn. Similarly, you can trek in pre-winter but trekking in summer is a bit risky
In spring, the temperature is mildly warm in lowland and moderate in high altitudes. Similarly in the Spring Season, the trail offers various flowers including Rhododendron.
Autumn is a golden time for trekking in EBC and Gokyo Lake. You will have a clear view of the majestic view. The weather is dry and clear. The temperature is neither cold nor not.
Trekking in winter is possible only in early winter. The temperature can be extremely cold which can lead to frostbite.
Trekking in Summer could be really riskier than other seasons. Due to continuous rainfall, the route may be slippery and damaged. The view won’t be clear.

Trip to Everest Base Camp begins with the flight From Kathmandu to Lukla. The beautiful hills and mountains seen from the flight make our journey more interesting. We will walk through the Dudh Koshi River and soon get into the Sherpa village. We can stay at Namche Bazaar for proper Adjustment since we will conquer the town and walk the closest landscapes.
Another day, we will follow the trail of Dole and Machhermo to get into the hiding valley. On walking through Gokyo Ri we can see the mesmerizing view and scene of mountains. After walking for a while through the rocky trails we will cross the Cho La Pass and can see the beautiful alpine scenario after getting through Khumbu Glacier and Gorak Shep.
After some time we will be able to see the amazing view of Mt Everest and other peaks. Then, We will trek toward the popular viewpoint which is Kalapatthar. We have achieved an extraordinary achievement by reaching up to here so gradually we will move downward following another trail and by enjoying the beauty of nature.
We would love to see lateral corrugation of Khumbu Icefall and the mesmerizing view of Mt. Everest. You will just feel blessed that you are at someone’s dreamed destination. 15 long days in between the mountains and Glaciers will not only refreshes your mind but also makes yourself feel proud that you have achieved your lifetime achievement. You will explore the monastic caves and adjusting the bodies to high mountains. We will see the beautiful scenario of Khumbu Icefall from a distance.
After a certain walk, we will reach the Kala Pattar to see the mesmerizing view of Mt. Everest. We have done something different that it is going to be a very proud moment while explaining it to the other. There is short as well as long trek to Everest Base Camp but 15 days trek is very famous and has been liked by trekkers who have explored it. It is exciting to ascend and descend through the hills and enjoy the mesmerizing and amazing view of mountains. This trek is not only a trek but it is the lifetime achievement for some of the trekkers.

So instead of destroying the trail for quick access, the next spot should be detected to make roads. So that the one who wants to trek EBC through the trail can achieve the achievement with full enjoyment. It would help to increase the trekkers in the years to come.
