Everest View Trek – 11 Days Brief Insight

Everest View Trek takes you through the steep and challenging road of the Himalayas surrounded by beautiful villages, rivers, monasteries, and forests in Khumbu region for a breath-taking view of the mighty Everest (8848m) and many other mountains such as Thamserku (6623m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Nuptse (7816m), and many more. Along with the exhilarating trek, you will also get an opportunity to explore various floras and faunas in the Himalayas and learn about the lifestyle and culture of the Sherpa community.

The Everest View Trek starts from Lukla alongside the Dudh Koshi River through various villages like Chumoa, Bengkar, Phakding, Chuthawa, and Mon, and joins the Himalayan trail to Namche Bazaar and Tengboche to catch amazing views of the mighty Everest (8848m) and its surrounding mountains. Before trekking to Tengboche, you will spend a day in Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the entire Everest region trek, for altitude acclimatization. Namche Bazaar is a beautiful Sherpa town situated at an altitude of 3440m on a sloping hill surrounded by snowy mountains.

Immediately to the west of Namche Bazaar is Kongde Ri (6187m) and to the east is Thamserku (6648m). There are three small museums, a monastery and a stupa at the bottom of the town, which you can explore during your acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar.

The next day you will trek to Tengboche Monastery, the oldest and most sacred monastery in the Khumbu region, which is located on a mountain ridge at an altitude of 3860m and offers magnificent views of mountain ranges including Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Nuptse (7816m), Taboche (6542m), and Thamserku (6623m). The inside of the monastery is beautifully decorated with a large and colorful statue of Buddha along with detailed Buddhist paintings on the wall. The best time for an Everest View Trek is during March-May and September-November when the weather is mild and dry.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

You will be greeted at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to a hotel in Thamel, where you will enjoy your delicious welcome dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Pre-trip meeting and Kathmandu cultural sightseeing tour

Today you will go for cultural sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and visit various UNESCO World Heritage sites in the valley like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. These places consist of centuries-old temples, monuments, monasteries, and antique buildings. After the sightseeing, there is a pre-trip meeting to prepare for the week-long trek. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2840m) trek to Phakding (2610m)

There is an early morning flight (35 minutes) to Lukla, the starting point for Everest View Trek. On the way to Phakding, you will witness various animals like mules and yaks along with the breath-taking view of the Khumbu Himalayas. You will also pass by some beautiful buildings, streams, hills, monasteries and prayer stones as you climb to Phakding. After reaching Phakding village, you can go for a short hike to Thaktul Monastery. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6 hours

After the early morning breakfast, you will start the trek to Namche Bazaar alongside Dudh Koshi River. On the way, you will come across numerous suspension bridges and Himalayan forests filled with rhododendrons, pines, and magnolias to officially enter Sagarmatha National Park premises. After reaching Namche Bazaar, you will see mesmerizing views of the mighty Everest (8848m) along with other mountains like Lhotse (8516m) and Thamserku (6623m).

Day 05: Explore day and acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3440m)

There is no trek today for altitude acclimatization. Instead, you will explore the beautiful town of Namche Bazaar situated amid various breath-taking mountains and mostly dominated by the Sherpa locals. You will also visit the museums, stupas, and monasteries in and around Namche Bazaar and explore the lifestyle and culture of Sherpa people. Alternatively, you can hike up to Everest View Hotel (3880m), one of the highest hotels in the world, for a grandiose view of Mt Everest (8848m). Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m) 5 hours

After an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, you will trek to Tengboche along the ridge above a snaky river. The narrow trail passes through small rhododendron forests dotted with numerous Buddhist stupas and Mani walls carved with Buddhist mantras. Upon reaching Tengboche, you will explore the sacred Tengboche Monastery and enjoy the stunning view of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m) and many other snow-clad peaks of the Khumbu Himalayas. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo (2835m) 5 hours

After an early morning breakfast in Tengboche, you will return to Namche Bazaar and from there you will hike down to Monjo alongside Dudh Koshi River. A steep descent from Namche Bazaar leads to numerous suspension bridges across Dudh Koshi River and to the small village of Monjo. Overnight in Monjo.

Day 08: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2840m) 4 hours

The final day of the trek will take you to Lukla whilst hiking alongside Dudh Koshi River. As you walk down from Monjo, you will pass through various villages like Chumoa, Bengkar, Phakding, and Chuthawa adorned with many Buddhist stupas. You will then reach Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate marking the end of your trek. You will spend the rest of the day exploring Lukla and stay the night there.

Day 09: Fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel

After the short yet enthralling trek, you will catch a flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Upon arrival, you can either rest in the hotel or explore the streets of Kathmandu. You can also go shopping in Kathmandu for souvenirs. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu and farewell dinner

As you have a free day in Kathmandu, you can spend the whole day exploring the valley. You can go hiking around Kathmandu or enjoy some recreational activities like rock climbing and paragliding. In the evening, along with our team, you will enjoy a delicious farewell dinner as a token of love from us. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 11: Departure to international airport for your final flight

Today we will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport to connect you with your final flight back home.
