Brief Trip Description

The journey begins with a pleasant ride heading towards the City of Lakes, Pokhara. Heading out of Kathmandu, we are greeted by the hilly landscapes guiding the winding bends of Prithvi Highway. Joined by the stunning Trishuli River midway, the journey takes us all the way to Pokhara where we are greeted by our first sight of the Himalayas. The Machhapuchhre (6997m) graces the entire Pokhara with its alluring aesthetics and charm. The second day of our trip takes us to the hamlet of Kalopani. The route covers a distance of 110 km filled with gorgeous views and vibrant culture.

We make our way towards the temple of Muktinath. The arid landscape of the Kali Gandaki River alongside its sandy banks is mesmerizing. The day ends at the hamlet of Muktinath ascending through Kagbeni. The temple is a holy site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The courtyard comprises 108 water taps through which sacred water flows. There is a belief that bathing in all of the water pipes cleanses all sins.

Visiting the holy temple of Muktinath, we make our way down the hamlet of Marpha famous for the delicacies made out of apples. Continuing on, we take a rest at Tatopani where the pleasant hot springs await us. Heading back we make a stop at Pokhara before arriving at Kathmandu.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Ride Kathmandu to Pokhara Lakeside (200km)

The beginning of our journey today we make our way towards Pokhara. Heading out of the rising hills of the valley, we settle down in the winding bends of Prithvi Highway. Midway through the journey, we are welcomed by the gurgling sound of the fast flowing Trishuli River. Continuing through the hilly landscapes, we reach Pokhara. The city of Pokhara offers views of the Machhapuchhre (6997m) as we spent a lovely evening on the lakeside. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

Day 02: Ride to Kalopani [2600m] (110km)

Today, we make our way to the hamlet of Kalopani. The journey takes us to the picturesque town of Beni. Taking on the Pokhara-Baglung Highway, we make our way through lush green forests adorned with varieties of floras and faunas crossing several vibrant hamlets of our way. Enjoying the ride, we make our way through the gravel road leading to the world’s deepest gorge formed by the Kali Gandaki River. The journey crosses Tatopani making its way towards Kalopani. Overnight stay at Kalopani.

Day 03: Ride to Muktinath [3760m] (70km)

The day begins early as we head towards Muktinath. The Himalayas as our constant companion, we gradually leave behind the lush green forests entering the arid landscape heading towards the holy site. Crossing several vibrant hamlets the journey takes us the picturesque city of Jomsom. Continuing on, we ascend on the trail heading towards the hamlet of Kagbeni beyond which Muktinath awaits us. Overnight stay at Muktinath.

Day 04: Visit the Muktinath Temple. Ride to Marpha [2200m] (22km)

The day begins early as we make our way to the temple of Muktinath. Enjoying the stunning views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range drenched in the early morning rays of the sun, we head towards the temple to pay our respects. If you are interested you are free to take a bath in the 108 water fountains which are believed to wash away all sins of this life. Later, we descend back to the city of Jomsom from where a short ride takes us to Marpha. Overnight stay at Marpha.

Day 05: Explore Marpha. Ride to Tatopani.

Today, we take some time off to explore the city of Marpha before beginning our journey to Tatopani. The hamlet has preserved its century-old architecture and culture reflected in the day to day lives of the residents there. The houses made from stone are backed up against cliffs while the doors and windows are outlined by Cherry wood. After exploring Marpha, we head down to Tatopani where a lovely bath in the hot water springs awaits us. Overnight stay at Tatopani.

Day 06: Ride to Pokhara (91km).

Once again, crossing the Hilly landscapes, we make our way back to Pokhara. The journey takes us alongside the stunning Kali Gandaki River for the last time with the Himalayas slowly eclipsed by the rising hills. The journey is a pleasant one as we slowly exit the enchanting Annapurna Region. Reaching back at Beni we take a brief rest before once again setting off for Pokhara. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

Day 07: Ride back to Kathmandu.|200 KM

The final day of our journey we make our way back to Kathmandu heading out of Pokhara. Taking on the lovely hills, we ride alongside the Trishuli River thrashing against the rocks. Back at Kathmandu, we head directly to our hotel which then signals the end of our journey. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
